Not only imaging
When introducing a speech recognition system throughout the hospital structure, several criteria should be considered to make the right choice: distributed architecture, integration, possibility of use on different clients (e.g. mobile), correction flow, scalability, and also availability of vocabularies.
With huge volumes of reports and the habit of dictating, imaging departments (radiology, neuroradiology and nuclear medicine) were the first to benefit from the advantages obtained by the introduction of speech recognition. Other departments, having verified the results of the application of speech recognition in radiology, are now setting themselves the same goals. Several institutions are considering extending the paradigm of speech recognition to the entire hospital structure.
